How to Care for Your Handmade Soap

Unlike mass-produced commercial bars, true handmade cold-process soap is rich in natural glycerin, which draws moisture to your skin. Because my soaps contain absolutely no synthetic hardening chemicals or artificial preservatives, they require a little extra love to last as long as possible.

Follow these simple tips to get the ultimate, longest-lasting lather out of every single bar:

Keep It High and Dry

  • The Rule: Moisture is the enemy of a long-lasting bar. Always store your soap out of the direct stream of water when not in use.

  • The Trick: Place your bar on a draining soap dish (like slotted wood, silicone ridges, or a porous soap saver pad). This elevates the bar so air can circulate underneath, allowing it to dry completely between uses.

Let It Breathe

  • The Rule: Avoid storing unused bars in airtight plastic containers or dark, damp drawers.

  • The Trick: Keep your backup bars in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated space. The breathable paper packaging allows the soap to stay dry while subtly scenting your linens or closet!

Enjoy It Fresh

  • The Rule: Don't hoard your luxury soap for a rainy day!
